Every technical claim is verified against the official PEASS-ng source and releases, dated with a “last reviewed” date, and backed by cited sources. When something changes or we get it wrong, we fix it and update the date. We do not invent facts, experts or metrics.
How we research#
- We read the official PEASS-ng repository, release assets and README — not other people's LinPEAS write-ups.
- We verify flags and behaviour against a specific, named release (currently
20260908-dffb9496). - Where the tool and its docs disagree (e.g. the 95%/99% colour figure), we say so and quote the runtime.
How we review#
- Technical guides carry an author, a reviewer and a “last reviewed” date.
- We only update the “last reviewed” date after an actual review — not on every minor edit.
- We re-check version-sensitive pages when a relevant PEASS-ng release ships.
Sourcing#
Factual claims cite authoritative sources: the PEASS-ng repository and releases, official distribution documentation (e.g. Kali), and reputable Linux security references. Sources are listed at the foot of each technical guide.
